Installing the Savvy corners definitely reinforces the tailgate hinge mounting on the tub side. Is there a reason to install something like the MORryde kit after doing so? I'm only going to be running a 32" - 33" tire max, but my trail tire set runs on the heavy side. I'll install the reinforcement if needed, but don't want to add the weight if this is an unnecessary upgrade.

As an additional data point, I will also be installing Savvy tailgate armor (and the valance). This makes me think I won't need the MORryde kit. Thoughts?

That's good to know about having to modify the tub sliders. @Midnight LJR did you use the entire MORryde kit or just the hinges? Also, do you have other pictures of the entire setup?

It still has the hinges and the tailgate reinforcement. But not the taper that mounts to the tub.

What other photo angles are you looking for?

One underappreciated benefit to the morryde hinges is how much wider the tailgate swings open. But other than that for your setup, I wouldn't think they're required. If I had known I was going the way I did (spare delete) I would have kept my OEM hinges and not trimmed the passenger side rub rail.

After re-adjusting the tailgate hinges it closes much better, with a very slight drop when opened. I'm now not getting any up and down movement when bouncing the spare around. However, there is some in and out movement, so I'll need to move the striker in a little. I'm going to just do that and run it for now. My main concern is trying to minimize stress on the tailgate, but believe I'm over thinking this!
