Hello, I am looking for practical and simple ideas for a battery disconnect switch which should ideally be attached to or on the battery. Which switch can you recommend and where should I install it?

How long does the battery need to be disconnected before the PCM resets?

The 99 Tj I bought was set up with a battery disco. The PO parked out on the course of the Mint 400 and was worried about it getting ripped off.. Good idea but... Every time its disco'ed it clears out the adaptive memory. The TJ was a 5 speed, but Im told it will effect auto trans shifts and TC lock up. But.. fear not possibly?? Buy a OBDII power supply and a cheap compact 12v battery. I have no idea how long the battery would last but in a TJ but Id guess a while since there are no BS gadgets to speak of (BCM) to stay awake, just the ECM. Thoughts??

I also have these installed on a few different vehicles that sit for weeks. They work well and its easy operation.

Yep, I'm very happy with it. If my truck is ever going to sit for a long period of time (which it does during winter), I just flip it, hook the battery to a tender, and don't worry about it next time I go to start it.
