Bought this LJ a few weeks ago finally got around to changing the plugs. It has 193,000 miles on it and I think these are the original plugs .080 falls in with room to spare

Yea, that's about right. I changed mine at 130K at .063-ish, but in excess of .080 isn't unheard of. Hot ignition system!
The Waste Spark Ignitions wear down the plugs.....
It fires two spark plugs simultaneously, one in a cylinder on its compression stroke (where the air-fuel mixture is ignited) and the other in a cylinder on its exhaust stroke. The spark in the cylinder on the exhaust stroke is considered "wasted" as it serves no purpose in combustion.

First off, welcome to the forum. I know it looks original but it’s not. Although definitely in need of change. Here’s mine at 78k. Northeast weather and they basically sit in a cup. Good maintenance non the less.
Back in the leaded gas engine days plugs were replaced at 12,000 miles with a cleaning at 6000 miles.
Man those have at least another 100k miles of spark left in them ! clean, regap and reinstall them .

I still have a pneumatic spark plug cleaner from the 60s that I've only used on a VW.
