I’m guessing my water pump went out

1998 2.5L. Just got back from running some errands. Didn’t bother to look under the Jeep when I got home. About 1/2 hour after I got home I saw this puddle under the Jeep. Definitely antifreeze.

Previous owner replaced the water pump and thermostat prior to my ownership. Water pump only has about 6000 miles on it. From looking up in there, you can’t see much, but I can’t imagine that anything other than the water pump would drip in the places I am seeing.

My plan is to get a new water pump and thermostat from rock auto. I might as well also replace the drive belt. Not going to replace the bottom radiator hose unless I see that it has some cracking in it. My radiator is fairly new, replaced it just a couple of months ago. The stock fan clutch seems to be operating as it should. With the engine off, I feel some fluid type resistance when I try to turn The fan blades.

I flushed the heater core when I replaced the radiator. Anything else should I look at replacing while I am in there? Thanks for any and all help and suggestions.

I'd do the entire cooling system at once.

Could be that he used some crap quality water pump like the cheap ones that most auto part stores (i.e. Autozone) sell.

I didn't have any luck with two auto.parts store thermostats. Needed a Robert Shaw to finally get one that opened at the right temperature.
