How balance beads work

It would be interesting to see them tested on a large scale to find the point of diminishing returns. My brain says you would only need the same weight in beads that you would use in tire weights. However, you couldn't know that number without putting them on a balancing machine. So how much weight of beads do you add? Would it be better to go heavier and let it do it's thing? Would that have a great impact on fuel economy, balancing effect, wear on other components? I think that would be interesting, but it would take a lot to comprehensively test.

I've seen them on large trucks. I've only ever used them on one vehicle, a 2003 Goldwing. They made my ride smooth as silk from 0-100.

I currently run them in my Boggers and TSL’s. They work well, but I think I’d be better off with a good balance and weights. But I do this myself without a balance machine. $$ saved
