Hidden Falls solo wheelin'

Yep. Savvy's are out of stock at the moment, but I will be getting theirs and their corner armor soon.
For the obstacles you're trying, definitely. For what I'm doing, sliders are good enough, though I did fall back into an obstacle and the tailight smashed into the tub and made an indention. I didn't even notice for several months. Tailight didn't even break. Shows how weak that area is. I wouldn't mind having the aluminum armor, I just don't want to deal with painting or wrapping it right now. More important things on my agenda, like just having the time to hit some good trails and time and money to make it to better trails. Carry on...

If you decide you want to edit and post wheeling videos, theres a video editing software called Filmora by a company called Wondershare, that's very affordable and well-featured, so if you want to you can merge several clips of a trail or a park into one video. I just renewed my subscription for another year for $25.

But it's also kinda nice to just have the individual clips, too. I find myself much more willing to watch a few 30 second clips that interest me than to sit through ten minutes...

Apologies for the necro, @Tob

Some family friends live down that way and I recently found out her new boyfriend has a built XJ and lives 15 minutes away in Liberty City. We're looking at dates this fall to make a trip out to Hidden Falls. This thread has given me all kinds of confidence to try a bunch of stuff out there.

Next time there's a group going, let me know and I'll try to tag along.

No problem @PRNDL. New boyfriend sounds like a cool guy 🙂. Last time I was there was in a 4-door JKU Turo rental (totally against their rules 🤫) pavement princess for my bachelor trip, and even that was able to make it through some trails there. You’ll be able to do a lot. Have fun! Next time I’m out that way, I’ll probably be passing it up for Wolf Caves though. There’s a “Texas Wheelers” thread somewhere around here - you should keep an eye on it so you don’t miss any planned outings.

I'm actually heading up there tomorrow for two days of wheeling fun with a buddy. We'll probably try to go back in mid August. When we figure out our next dates I'll give you a heads up and maybe even post it in the regional area for others. My first time out there was about 6 weeks ago. I was in my '00 4x4 Pathfinder with a 2" lift and 245/70-16 AT. I made it through all the 3s we did. Ended up on a 4 at one point and made it through. Thankfully there was a few by-passes on it. You'll do just fine out there.

even these old shots make me want to make some time to get back out there. I remember Green Mile back when the middle of the trail was the washout and you rode the railroad tracks up the hill. HF just posted some pics of them grading the park roads and lower rated trails to keep them lower rated so its not just buggy lines everywhere. Hopefully I can get a chance to drag my TJ out there later this year.

I’m well aware. This thread is from long before all that drama transpired.

They had to make it Cybertruck-accessible ♿♿♿️ after that embarrassment of a video they put out a while back 😆

Did you ever get them or what did you end up going with?

Nope. TJ mods have slowed down since buying a house and beginning a remodel. Priorities 🤷‍♂️. When the timing is right, maybe genright mini boatsides or custom fabricated as some here have done recently, or maybe new options will appear…

Like @Tob said, try hitting up Wolf Caves near Mason, TX. It’s awesome. I used to live right in between Hidden Falls and Wolf Caves. I enjoyed both, but fewer people make the trek out to Wolf Caves and it’s totally awesome. Be prepared for a lot of granite. I wish I still lived there with my current setup. It would take me further.

I can confirm they have grated a lot of the "harder" trails, along the fence line (north pole/north peak). However they did leave some of the original lines in tack for those still wanting to hit the "harder" stuff. They also created a few new smaller trails while they were grating. As we came across some freshly grated stuff that was not there when we went about 6 weeks ago and they were also clearly not on the map.
