I picked up a set of these locally in great condition, but they did not have the hardware to install. Anyone have any luck with getting the brackets fabricated? If not, anyone have any ideas? I toyed with getting teh metal tuffy ones, but I everything is mixed feedback and I didn't want metal.

Just send them to me... I'll figure out how to mount them.

Or at least put a layer of pallet wrap on them and take a fiberglass mold since they're just sitting around collecting dust.

;)

If I had any skill like that, I would already be doing it. If anyone is local to me and wants a try anything before I get something made to mount them, I am good with it.

I know how to install and what is needed. I am looking for some insight in fabricating brackets, since mine were missing.

If you would go and READ what I posted...the customer service girl from them provided you that most concise explanation possible. I am not going to tell you what it is but rather make you go read it then the lightbulb will turn on.

After that, you can come back and say thank you.

Good grief.

Yeah, I read that, and I already had the instructions. That doesn't tell me if anyone came up with a different option for mounting or fabricated anything like I asked. But thank you for the condescending post. You must be a lot of fun at parties.

100% would. Shipping might be rough. They are larger than you may think.

I don't know anything about the process of reproducing them.. Seems like there are two members, @DuckNut & @DeltaNu1142, who have interest and/or skills to get it done, we have samples to work with.. now just need enough people to make it a worthwhile project.

Not sure what these would ultimately cost, but I would like a set. Maybe a more general post to the forum members to gather interest and commitment ?

As far as shipping goes... I've shipped some big items. Half doors, swing out tire carrier, InstaTrunk... Not impossible.

I made headway on modeling the rear passenger corner of the LJ tub and I've printed some draft lids:

Since my print capacity is 10" x 10" x 10", I'll have to print in parts and assemble. I can design strong joints and it'll all be covered by speaker carpet anyway, so it won't be obvious that it's multiple pieces. The driver side will be an approximate mirror of the passenger side. I'm designing this for my own use and I can't really say whether it will be applicable to all LJs, but it should be. I'm planning to use steel pins as full-length "cabinet" door hinges, and something like these as latches:

However, other projects have taken priority lately. I'm building a deck this spring and it's soaking up all of my time. Unfortunately, I've got to move electrical & plumbing before I can even think about framing. I'm hoping to pour footers this weekend so I can pick up the pace.

I will make a fiberglass one off when I can. I have much more pressing matters at the moment.

My house on the beach had 5 feet of sand over every inch of the yard and still looks like the desert. I did get the pool dug out but no water in it yet. Time, just need more of it.
