Novak Conversions Jeep Wrangler TJ engine mounts

Hello Fellow TJ'ers

Welcome! This is an awesome sight with a lot of great info. You seem like you'll fit in well.

Gotta say, though, when I saw this thread title, all I could think about was that Steve Buscemi meme!🤣

Like to look at approaching 80 as well experienced. A little health set back has slowed adding some additions to the LJ but hopefully that’s behind me.

Thinking about having more work done for me cause the pain and bruises from banging my body laying on the floor under the Jeep don’t go away as quickly. Now to find a mechanic who is familiar with TJ’s so doesn’t need to charge to learn how to fix the old girl. Fortunately found the Jeep with low mileage so maintenance has been minimum.

The wife, Mrs W. uses Medical Marijuanas for Pain and sleep, says it works well. There are a few types I think ones for Pain and ones of getting high. We live in an "old" neighborhood, it is funny listening to the straight laced ladies talking about what works for them.

The “like” button at the bottom. You may have to be a supporting member to see it, not sure.

I think I'll get on to that then, I most probably have over $40 of advice so far from reading different threads.

Yes your right, you get the 1st one;)

I’ve had the same thought and came to the same conclusion. Plus, I’m guessing that the current model will have better luck replacing me with a newer model than I’d have replacing the current model with a newer model. Best to leave well-enough alone.

Well put, they are pretty easy to repair, though we do tend to get into situations where they need to be repaired. I have been asked why I drive one, "they are noisy, uncomfortable and you have to wind the windows up by hand". That's why I drive one.

"Enjoy Photography, mainly wild life." Thanks, D

Now your talking, I worked on UK tanks in the 60/70's, 1st on Centurions then Chieftain MK2's and later in Iran on Chieftain MK3's. In the early 80's we saw a number of them in Iraq that had been captured and put outside military bases.
All British heavy armour start with a "C". 6 Wheeled armour with an "S". 4 Wheeled armour with an "F".
In Knoxville, TN. there is a guy name of Benton Bryant who owned a Chieftain, had it parked in a farmers field, I use to repair it for him, about 20 odd years ago. Think he sold it to someone in CA.

How about a Centurion or "Cent". Max 21mph with a following wind, crosscountry 4 Imperial gallons to the mile. Think that would be 5 US gallons to a mile.
They had a detuned Spitfire engine in them V12 Rolls Royce Merlin. I only saw a couple of the original engines, think Austin started making them under licence, but they weren't as good.

I'll miss this old dude.

Thats the 1st time I've seen him, very English. He is very much like a guy I knew in the army Named "Barney". Barney did the same sort of thing at Duxford Museum on the junction of the M11 and Baldock Road There is a big US air Museum there to.

Cool stuff, my son asked his Grandma she does Sr HS trips, to go to in DriveTanks.com in Texas, ha.

He then went to West Point, and only got A’s in Boxing and Grappling Combatives. Dropped out (failed a class) and enlisted, and is now 101st Airborne in Estonia. Happy! Ha.

Tanks were his second choice after Infantry.

Good for him, he should get a great sense of comradeship. I joined at 16, boy service. I worked in a local garage pumping from 13 years on. There was a Mechanic there, Ex-Para, he said "boy you better join the army or you'll end up in trouble". So I did, best thing I ever did.
