Went to the upholstery shop this morning to pick material to have the seats reupholstered , I have new foam from Summit and we plan on replacing all the springs on the frames.
I think we are going with a basic black Katzkin, then having my friends trim shop remove the centers and replace it with black and white houndstooth material from a 1969 Camaro, like this. Stand by for the finished result. probably a month away.

Good, even just 'pretty good' upholstery isn't cheap, especially auto upholstery.
A motorcycle seat cost me $550.
I'm gonna guess a full set of custom TJ seats like these was closer to $2500.

It's been years since anyone I know actually reupholstered seats. Last I recall, it wasn't too terribly expensive. But, I'm sure that has changed.

You are the winner, you should play the Lottery tonight. It was more than I wished to spend but they are like new, we replaced the spring grids, painted the frames and tracks ect.

Probably more than you would think. I wanted to get my Bartacts repaired, (the center section ripped at the seam), and the guy wanted $150 JUST for that. And that was with the seat cover removed.

Call Bartact.
My drivers side bottom cushion cover opened up at a seam.. I am well out of warranty on them.
Called Bartact to discuss options and after explaining the nature of the failure they asked that I send a picture, which I did on the spot. The service dude stayed on the line until he recv'd the picture after which he said.. give me a minute or two. Came back a few moments later and said.. that's on us. Where would you like us to send the replacement?

That's good customer service and similar to an exchange I had with them.

I pain a local upholstery shop a little over $1,400.00 to do my seats (front & rear). The black part is Katskin & the red part is leather.

I bought premade but custom fitted seat covers for mine. Not nearly as nice but a lot cheaper!

Lots of very nice looking seats in this thread!!
