As the title states I’m having a strange issue and I can’t seem to find anyone that has had this happen. About a year ago I decided it was time to replace my clockspring on my 1999 sahara. My airbag light had been on for quite some time. Ever since replacing it, once in a while when i use the horn, the windshield wipers would engage. And this stsrted happening right after replacing the clockspring. it would only happen about 25% of the time when using the horn. Annoying. Yes, but i wasnt too worried about it at the time. a year goes by and i just recently replaced my headlight and interior light switch to the left of the steering wheel. Everything was fine and the new switch worked properly for about 3 weeks… But now, when i turn on my headlights, they dont go on, but my wipers will engage. Now it’s a real issue as I can’t drive at night anymore. Could this really be from a bad clock spring? Bad headlight switch? At first I thought it had to be a bad ground somewhere so I checked all that I could find. I don’t have any aftermarket wiring or lights on my jeep and have never really tampered with any of the electronics. Has anyone had an issue like this before?

The wiper on when using the horn is a classic symptom of the grounds at the back side of the grill being deficient or not hooked up.

My initial though, I pulled both grounds near each headlight and wire wheeled the spot where it mounts, then treated with a little bit of dielectric grease, still nothing unfortunately

Just hard to wrap my brain around how that could be effecting the wipers and even the headlights now

Here's one for you: Several years ago when I turned on the rear wiper, the center brake light lit dimly, and the wiper moved very slowly. If I opened the tail gate, the wiper did not move. I discovered the firewall ground above the brake pedal area was loose. Tightened the screw and everything went back to normal operation. The rear wiper was finding ground through the brake light.

Grounding issues can cause weird things to happen.
