I just put the hard top back on my 2002. The back window seems to be locked in the open position. Like all the way up. I can't get it to close. Is there a trick I'm missing here?

I don’t think so. There’s just the hinges and two gas struts. Are the strut rods rusted? That would prevent them from compressing. You could pop them off to see if the liftgate moves freely.
They were working just fine ... like fully functional... before we carefully flipped the hard top off its back
