Looks like gobbledy-gook to me, but I haven't used one. Just watching the guy try to do it didn't make sense. Here, find the flat part of your wheel that is parallel to the hub and just hold it there. First, there is no "flat part", and second, holding it there would be a disaster. We're talking about things we want within a <1 degree of accuracy and we're going to hold it by hand?

What seems to be missing, or I just missed, is a holder that gets locked in place by your lug nuts and ensures the device is in the proper position...
