Okay, maybe I'm being stupid here. But does anyone have a source/link to buy AeroShell 33MS/64 or Phillips 66 Moly Low Temp? Seems like it's out of stock everywhere I look. I did find some 1oz containers of the AeroShell on Amazon, but I wasn't sure how much I would actually need for my rebuild.

Also open to any other suggestions for grease to use.

Crazy they had some when I checked less than a month ago

@Blackjack rebuilds a lot of winches if I remember correctly. Maybe he'll know for sure.

I buy mine by the case from the bulk distributor in Anchorage so that does not help much. On the mid frame winches I use right around half a standard (15oz) tube unless I splurge and overpack the gearbox some.

Do not look at what they sell it on their eBay store for even though it include postage.. Maybe I need to start selling but shipping from AK might be an issue.

Truth be told any quality NGLI1(NGLI2 would be ok in the more southern climates) grease with 5% moly will get the job done. If you have an Amsoil dealer close by their NGLI1 Synthetic Moly would be a very good choice as long as you are doing a clean fill.

Appreciate the replies, forgot to mention I checked Montana Jacks. I check awhile ago and they had it, but I didn’t even have a front bumper at the time, so I didn’t bother ordering 🙄

I’m basically doing a complete tear down of this winch. I’ve had it since I was 16 (2001) and it was on my first Jeep (YJ), then my CJ5, then my CJ8. So hopefully on the LJ it goes.

Based on the brushes I assume it was basically a bumper ornament until I got it. I definitely used it, but it’s basically been sitting in my Dads shop or my shop since probably 2008-2010ish now.

Little update for anyone that cares, after a few emails back and forth with Scott from Montana Jacks he said he was told by a couple different distributors that "Phillips discontinued the Moly Low Temp product." I went ahead with the AeroShell 64. 🤷‍♂️

I'm trying to limit my collection of grease guns. I bought some redline CV-2 for my johhny joints. Would that be compatible for winch gears/drum on an 8000 and 8274 drum?
