Gear pattern: a different perspective

Finally finished up this job this morning. Ended up having to order a rear drive shaft since I didn’t take into account in the beginning that the shaft for the 8.8 wasn’t going to work.
Did my first test run breaking in the black magic pads and the gears and man , what a difference these 4.88’s make in drivability. It’s like a whole different jeep. I drove about 10 miles and , nothing came apart, lol.
Thanks to everyone for the help on this. It made things a whole lot easier having more eyes looking at what I was doing.

Just a note of thanks to everyone involved in this thread. I am the one reaping the benefits of Peppergats patience and thoroughness along with the coaching he got from those in this thread. This machine goes down the road and trail as it should. No excessive slack in the drivetrain, which would really show up since it’s a stick, and no gear noise at any speed. I drive it about 35 miles one way to the off-road park and there’s no gear noise at 70 MPH.

Great job by all!
