LOL, I happened to be browsing one of the JL Jeep forums, and I saw a long string of thread about their gas cap tethers being too short. I was interested because the 2000 Sport I recently bought is supposed to have a tether, according to the build sheet, but it doesn't. Looks like it was there at one time but probably long gone. Was wondering if I could/should try to get another one (I almost left my cap at the station one time). The question is, is the tether on the TJ's too short? I suppose I could jerry rig something but just curious if the OEM tether (there's an OEM part for everything, right?) or one from some scalper on E-Bay is worth seeking out.

No. I have a factory one that attaches with a ring around the perimeter of the cap, so it's different than the Amazon one posted above.
It’s the same one I had on my jk. For some dumb reason they mounted the non cap side above the fuel fill. I just drilled a hole below the fuel fill and it worked perfectly. I’d suspect it’ll work just as well on a TJ.
