Fuel pump connector stuck

Sometimes the little release lever gets too stressed and bends before lifting the locking tab. At that point you have to get in there with the small flat blade and help it.

This was basically the problem. I failed to open my eyes and examine how the connector actually works. With the red tab removed, squeezing the release tab was not doing anything. So I used a tiny flat head from behind to lift the release tab manually, and then it came out effortlessly.

Oh wee, now I have a decision to make. Just adjust bumpstops, or go on ahead with the rest of the suspension.

Man I forgot how annoying the filler neck is to get out.

Oh and the upper shock bolts.... mind you this is a rust free Jeep and the shocks had been replaced a few years back by PO with crappy nitrochargers. But the PO put the original bolts straight back in, no antiseize, so I was scared. My first time doing rear shocks as well. I soaked in kroil for two weeks, used a rubber mallet to tap the socket on tight, I mean stuck onto the bolt head so there's no chance of rounding. Put a quarter inch drive wrench on there, and gave it as much force as I could. Man that sucker made a LOUD pop but it came right out. I almost shit my pants and will now have to work up the courage to remove the other three. Wish me luck!

18 years of mud. Man I can't get over the fact that kids born in 2005 are voting. Even this dirt is older than them.
