Front tow hooks on OEM bumper

I would avoid a torx head and go with a standard hex-head Grade 8 1/2x13 that is 1" longer than what the factory installed.
Jerry the Hex head I need for tow hooks is? ( above a bit gobbledy gook to me! )
What do I need? 1/2 inch 1 1/2 inch long M8 or M12? Your 13 got me well confused lol

We do Metric Imperial and Whitworth machine fittings so hit me with your best shot :)

-Grade 8 is the hardness.

-1/2x13. 1/2 inch is the size of the bolt and 13 is the threads per inch. American fasteners use this system.

-However long the factory bolt is from the bolttom of the head to the end of the threads, get one that is one inch longer. That will make up the difference in the thickness of the tow hook.

As Jerry stated, measure the existing bolt length from under bolt head and add 1" for your new bolt length needed.
The bolt is 1/2" x 13 TPI standard national coarse and NOT metric. Make sure to get Grade 8!

I purchased these because I wanted the flange head and finding them locally is tough.

Thanks so I need a Grade 8 1/2" 13 an inch longer than the torx that are in my bumper without the hooks. i think these are just M10 fine tread in metric?

Thank you all kindly :)

Can you post to confirm that? I will need longer bolts at some point.

Cant confirm yet but when I take my Torx out I will try an M10 fine thread for fit, If not I have a Bolt supplier a few miles from me that I am sure could supply but they only sell boxes so will have to plead poverty! the only 1/2 inch grade 8,s I can find online have to come from USA or China!
USA uses different terminology to me so I should ask a Canadian.
mind you I still call a 13mm spanner an 1/2 inch and if its too loose I hammer on a 12mm, old habits die hard lol

They ARE NOT metric! Don't use any M10, M12 of any pitch!
If you can't put in the correct bolts, don't!

The 1/2" x 13 bolts are 1/2" diameter with 13 threads per inch (SAE) Society of Automotive Engineers which at one point was the US standard and no relation to metric fasteners. The wrench or spanner size on a heavy hex pattern 1/2x13 bolt would be 7/8"

The 1/2 x 13 nuts are tacked to the inner frame and a longer bolt is all you need. Going thru the nut would reduce the bolt diameter to worthless ..
Cheers, thought so! I am just sourcing correct bolts with other parts from my armchair . Cheap enough from US for 4 but $35US shipping lol
A Bolt and fastener shop will have them I am sure
