Front suspension cycling

You can stop with the strings to find parallel. If you are using the factory mounting positions, then that is all you care about.

I was doing that a few months ago. I was comparing different trac bars including the rock Krawler trac bar that uses a double sheer mount. I am using original mounting points.

Anyone that can get the strings that correct should also be doing their own work or standing there while the shop does it.

Iv owned this jeep for 27 years and this was the first time I let anyone work on it. Worst decision I ever made. Mainly due to my lack of welding skills which i have recently been trying to learn. I have been fixing the shops bullshit work ever since. They are now out of business.

I’m back to cycling and am going to take my track bar to a local fab shop later this to put some more bend into it. One other thing iv noticed is when I tried pulling the axle back as far as it could go i quickly had the tires into the back of the fender on turns. I rotated the lower arms(both double adjustable) out enough to clear the fenders. The problem is the driver side arm ends up being almost 2 inches shorter than passenger side. Clearly not square. If I square the axle I end up with tons more clearance from the fender on driver side but than track bar is stuffed into the diff cover. I’m not sure I can put that much bend into the track bar without it hitting the drag link. Any ideas?

I'm curious how much of this issue goes away with a lower profile cover.
I've long ago given up trying to convince folks that their fashion accessories are a bad idea. You want a fancy red diff cover? Fine, get back to me after you have spent hours and hours trying to stop shit from running into other shit that you would rather not have happen. Early on I ground on one, cycled, ground, cycled and after about 2 hours of that nonsense, took the cover off and tossed it in the trash where it belonged. I'm just sad that Currie, ARB, et al even sell them.

That’s what’s bothering me the most. I paid a lot for this Currie Hp 44 front axle and have all Currie steering and rock jock trac bar. My understanding was they would play nice with each other. My buddy has a couple of rubicon 44 axles in his garage so I’m borrowing one of his covers for fit. If it clears I will go with the Barnett cover.

We've only ever been able to make the Barnett or stock cover with a lower guard like the Warn work. Sometimes we can sneak in the stuff like Tera has or had. We still have to add some bend in the trackbar and clearance the spring perch. It is just a bunch easier.

I will be picking up the stock rubicon 44 cover to test fit later today. I took my track bar to a local off-road Fab shop. They said they can’t bend the track bar. It wouldn’t work with the jig set up they have so hopefully this cover will clear everything. I noticed Currie only sells synthetic gear oil and that’s what they recommend for their axel. Most of the discussions on this forum seem to say use conventional. Should I stick with Currie recommendations?

The fab shop has a lack of imagination.

I agree. I can’t find a good place around here. I don’t have a press unfortunately or I’d give it a go.
