Does anyone have any recommendations for a specific youtube video on front seal replacement? I have a 2006 Rubicon LJ and was about to replace the front shocks when I noticed the leak. It has to be very recent, I've replaced the diff oil recently and didn't notice the leak then. I'm pretty much a novice wrenching, but, I have a lot of time and some patience. Thanks in advance.

It's not a hard job, but there are a few things to pay attention to.

- The first is the orientation of the bearing caps. In this case put them back exactly like they were installed. There usually letters or numbers stamped in both the cap and the housing.

- The second is the shims. When you remove the entire carrier assembly, it will be shimmed on both sides. Keep the left and right side shim stack together. Do not mix them up!

- The third is the locker indicator switch. When you put the carrier back in you need to ensure the switch is extended inside the housing. Something like a small wooden dowel cut to length works. You install the dowel with a string attached, then pull it out once the carrier assembly is re-installed.

I didn't watch the entire video, but the basics are here.
