You’ll have to forgive me I haven’t been on this forum for awhile… I don’t know if Jerry is still kicking or not so I don’t know to say is or was![]()
You know how to stop me from being a dick? That's right, don't make bullshit outlandish claims and my dickishness is unwarranted.
Why?
Why?
Not sure, but based on this thread, I'd guess drama
Why?
You are running 37's on Dana 30 ball joints, Dana 30 stub shafts, and Dana 30 steering knuckles, so there is that.I have 37's on 44's with no issues. I wouldn't run 37's on a 30.
It is a sad day in the world when the liar turns around and points the finger to try and blame someone else when all they did was call out the bullshit. Whether or not I dislike being wrong doesn't change that you've posted far more incorrect info in this thread than I have and somehow I'm to blame? WTF is wrong with you? What he says isn't gospel. His attitude is the same as Jerry's, he's never wrong.
He didn't want to be the Savvy brand ambassador and sticker distributor.
Not for nothing but the main difference is I don't care what you run or how you build your rig, just don't prevaricate when it comes to discussing it. I would never under any circumstances say anyone should ONLY run the Anti-Rock as the only option for swaybar(s). I've been on the bad end of battling that discussion far too many times. Not to flame Jerry but the difference in knowledge level between the two is extreme. One parroted information and refused to ever change his belief when challenged and would post no evidence to back anything up. The other will admit when wrong but often isn’t wrong and has a much larger background the knowledge stems from.
It was nothing more than some dick swinging. He knows it, I know it, and you know it. He's just grumpy because he got caught with it out. He’s not wrong in this case - technically you started it by saying Dana 44’s are good enough for 40’s since ECGS said so and you said you had bigger ball joints that I don’t think you have. You might have been sold a bill of goods or maybe were misled about what you were buying and maybe they would work on 40’s but not in any wheeling that matters. Whether or not you actually had bigger ball joints is one thing in the conversation but even if you did, the gater tamer doesn’t and as such, he’s still best off keeping it to 35’s or smaller, as are most.

He and I had several conversations before his wife induced move to Florida. He spent nearly every weekend out in the desert or up in the mountains wheeling with friends and he knew there was nothing in Florida to scratch that particular itch. He was concerned, bothered, and more than a bit upset about it and was really trying to figure out if the Jeep should go or just sell it off. On the one hand, his identity is so wrapped up in it, it would be like selling part of himself, on the other, he didn't want the daily reminder of what he was no longer able to enjoy sitting unused in the garage. You’ll have to forgive me I haven’t been on this forum for awhile… I don’t know if Jerry is still kicking or not so I don’t know to say is or was![]()
There is a great nugget of info in the trail guide response. We've been talking about the balance between wheelbase, tire size, and belly height for many years. What is very often overlooked is what happens when you get out of balance too far. I've seen it with lots of big builds where they spent big time and money building around 37's including axles that are heavy duty enough to run them in JV and similar.Look boys I didn’t mean to start an all out war here… I just wanted to know if I could put 37’s on e lockers and chrome moly axle shafts…but I’m hearing about ball joints and king pins… I get it… but trust me what @mrblaine says is usually gospel
