Duratracs seem almost perfect...

Exactly and they're right at home under a Jeep they don't look overly aggressive like a KM2 would look a bit overkill in such a small size

Duras definitely look good, if they made them like they used to, with a 3 ply side, this thread wouldn't even exist. These Fierce attitudes look good as well. The more reviews I read, the more I like. Seems Goodyear is the parent co. In the middle ground like a Duratrac, between an AT and a MT. Multipurpose tire, these seem to be marketed as a MT, but with lots of siping. The review I linked above, gave them a better rating over the Goodyear MT/K,the BFG T/A, the Coopers STT etc..It is the only tire that got 4/5 in almost every category.

The big thing that is selling me is when I read the following: "Inside the tire you will find a 3-ply steel belted construction for added strength and durability. There is also a 3-ply polyester sidewall for increased puncture resistance" http://tirereviewsandmore.com/fierce-attitude-mt-reviews.php

What is weird is some reviewers conflict the above and have said it's 2 ply sidewall, I need to find this out..Several reviewers have reported 45K miles with no flats or punctures and still has good traction, Aside from the cheezy Fierce name, this might be the best tire for me.

And they look pretty similar to a Duratrac, the tread design.

If I lived were it snows maybe Duratracs would be my choice ,but down south we have a lot of mud gumbo type so you need M/T that's good all around ,I'm happy with BFG KM2 it's D rated here's the specs

Oh man we get major rain around Houston & these are excellent in rain now I had MT Baja claws TTC's that would slide on road & I'm not going to risk safety

Surprising... Usually I hear MT tires are horrible in the rain due to the lack of siping.

I haven't had any issues at all in the rain with my Cooper Discoverer STTs. I don't have to worry about snow, and my Jeep isn't my daily driver so the Coopers work for my needs. If it was a daily driver there is no way that I would have chosen a mud tire.

That's what I roll on my daily driver that sees moderate offroad NC jobsite red clay mud. For the TJ I roll Baja MTZ because of said red clay and my tow pig rolls with Terra Grapplers because of moderate greasy roads at the trail head unload spots. Many of the hunters I know like the duratracs but (to me) they roar quite a bit

Interesting... My Duratracs at highway speed are amazingly quiet.

Toyota Tundra 4dr and f150 were the ones I rode in that were loud...considerably heavier rigs pressing the road harder on each corner than a TJ

Yep that must be it. Mine are excellent on the highway, but then again this is a TJ!

I have KM2 pizza cutters on a Tacoma and they get out from under you real quick when it's raining. Just have to adapt accelerating and braking distance. Snow is a different story... Hideous on paved roads with snow pack that the plow leaves from not dragging their blades. They become skis.

But, despite that, I'm on my fourth set and it's my DD. 8-)

Reason being puncture resistance, tire diameter and I used to tow ATVs often to isolated trailer heads.

The only reason I like my Duratracs over an MT is because I drive it often in pouring rain, packed snow and I use it for more of an all terrain vehicle than I do as a dedicated off road vehicle.

The weather here in Portland sort of warrants a nice All Terrain
