I have a 2004 TJ with Safari doors and the door is closed I have a hard top on.
Problem: The door locking must have broken because I cannot open the door from inside or outside both latches pull but nothing happens. I can press the inside locker open and close as well as lock and unlock from the outside but nothing happens. I realize I need to get the Safari window off to then take off the inside door panel. But the angle near the windshield prevents me from lifting off the window because the door is closed (can’t open the door because the locking mechanism is broke with the door closed).
I also tried to take the door off, but since you have to lift I am unable to because of the angle nearest the windshield and the door is in the closed position. Removing the hard top also does not solve the issue because again the angle nearest the windshield prevents the upper window from being lift straight up.
Any recommendations?
