Wondering if anyone has pulled their doors off and just put them into the back seat of their TJ. Sometimes I just wanna take the doors off in the middle of the day, but... I thought I'd ask about before I tried it myself.
Thanks!

I can't imagine getting my full doors into the back of a TJ without throwing out my lower back and being bedridden for 5 days, not to mention having them loose back there is bound to damage them from banging into one another, or kill me in the event of an accident.

For half doors, I could see if they were well constrained to not crash around back there, but the open air feeling is plenty present enough to feel no compulsion to remove them.

If you're talking about soft upper doors that slide into half doors, then yes I do it all the time because my wheeling spots are hours away and I like to wheel without them but don't want to get beat up by the wind the entire way there. I have a bestop bag for them to keep the vinyl from getting all scratched up.

Probably not a good idea to put them in the backseat of your TJ. If you got in a wreck or suddenly had to hit the brakes it would not go well. But yes, most people here take their doors off. Leave them at home.

Get trail doors or the fabric ones then you won't have to worry about destroying them.

Doorless was fun when I didn’t have half doors, but half doors are more better.

I’ve never stored any doors inside the Jeep. I think that’s a bad idea unless you just have to for some reason.

the low back thing REALLY resonates, although, one of my sons is convinced that if I roll the windows down first, they'll be lighter

During the summer, I have the soft doors just for this occasion. In the morning I can have a complete closed in cab. In the afternoon, I can take off the uppers or remove the entire door and slip them behind the rear seat. Now that I removed the rear seat, I just lay them flat in the back.

Also, if I take off my doors I will lose my dual climate control.

I love the soft doors for wheeling, I have the full fabric one and usually leave the bottoms on to keep some of the mud out

I have been thinking of getting OEM half doors for a bit but I am now considering the full soft doors. We have cool mornings, warm/hot afternoons, and cool nights. I want to be able to remove them mid-day and put them back on for the drive home at noght. I would assume they are noisy at high speed but are they tolerable? Any other pros/cons I should consider?

Half doors with soft uppers stowed, for sure.
Full doors or hard 1/2 doors stowed? Nah. Too heavy/susceptible to damage
Maybe soft full/1/2 doors?

We actually prefer our full doors while wheeling. Nice to get away from the bugs/heat/dust/cold/rain/snow/wind/ash-fall/pollen with glass windows up and also to be able to roll the windows all the way down quickly to spot/talk/grab food from the drive-thru, rather than having to deal with mini sliders or the zip down soft windows.
