97 TJ, the door locks stick when you try to open the door when it is locked. Otherwise, they are fine. I took the panel off and lubed up the mechanism, and confirmed that the lock operates properly with both the key and the inside door lock, whether the door is open or shut.
However, when I pull the door handle while the door is locked, something happens that causes the lock to be extremely difficult to unlock. The only way I can unlock it then is to push VERY hard on the white elbow next to the latch, where the rods connect.
So the problem seems to be that, for some reason, the white elbow piece becomes very difficult to move whenever you try to open the door when it is locked.
Any ideas?
