Does anyone know the correct width on the joint ends on TJ control arms brackets?

Hi everyone,

I bought Steinjagger rear lowers from Extreme Terrain about two months ago and finally had some time last weekend to take them to the shop for installing.

Problem is, the mechanic told me the Steinjaggers are about 3 1/16" on the johny joint end, and the ones that are currently installed on my TJ are about 2 5/8" (really old Teraflex CA's) so the arms I ordered are too big for the mounts on my TJ. I'll add a pic at the bottom for reference.

I cant tell if the previous owner maybe swapped to JK mounts & control arms on the jeep (which i find highly unlikely) or if Extreme Terrain made a shipping mistake and sent JK control arms instead of TJ, and I haven't been able to find any info on the measurements of control arms.

Does anyone know the correct width on the joint ends on TJ control arms?

That is too wide for the stock TJ lower mounts.

Yep - far too wide & definitely not Johnny Joints.
Lower widths are appx 2.5"

I'm not sure what those joints are for, but they won't fit a TJ, JK or JL. Maybe a RAM or something big like that.

Thank you for all your replies. I got in contact with extreme terrain and they'll RMA the parts, so it's not all bad. I could've been down 200 bucks and stuck with a pair of LCA's for some random truck.
