Do Gates replacement parts suck or am I unlucky?

every single time i’ve ever purchased a gates product it has not correctly fit.

their water pump for 97-02 tj is just wrong across multiple sites and the idler pulley i got from them was the wrong spacing.

i was told they are top notch but this really blows

My gates hoses and water pump have been just fine.

My gates pump ifs doing fine. Put it in this past summer. The belt it’s doing fine too. Time will tell.

Same as the above, fit correctly and have been working fine for several years in Arizona 115+ summer heat.

I’ve actually had ok luck with Gates. Crown now, they are a crime against humanity.

@mrblaine, why don't you tell them about the hit and miss experience with aftermarket replacement parts.

I know you've touched on this subject before in regard to Cardone, the ACC carpet, and probably others. Any experience with Gates?

The only Gates stuff I've used are belts and hoses. I've never had any issues with them but it has been awhile since I used any new stuff.

I've had fitment issues with their idle pulley. It was larger in diameter and didn't fit correctly.
