Did I do something stupid?

Welder...once you use this method you'll never drill again.

I got 5 exhaust bolts out of a 2004 WJ today and didn't break anything!

This method is exceptionally useful when a bolt is threaded into aluminum. I did a few exhaust manifold studs on a 5.7 Hemi this way, simple.

I have also ruined a cylinder on a leaf blower last ditch trying this into some sort of cast iron.

Finally got the new bolts in yesterday and front diff cover came off no problem with that 50/50 mix. Fluid was pretty nasty but no metal or water so not too worried. Get started on the rear, and it's my lucky day, I stripped a bolt last weekend and didn't realize. And so this very simple project continues.

So on to the NEXT stupid thing!
We've all been there, and that's mostly why we're here.

Yep. I love working on my Jeep but I'd like to move onto some actual projects, not just trying to change my diff fluid for the past week. At least it's just my diff and not something big.

Ha! I had a list of improvements I was planning to do but it got sidelined when other more important stuff kept coming up, like the cylinder head and an entire new cooling system. Someday I'll get to my new sound system and tires and Savvy Offroad transfer case shift cable kit and headlights and and......

I was planning on doing a winch and making my wiring less ghetto before winter but that's gonna have to wait with elk season and some backpacking trips coming up. And now my serpentine belt is squealing like a pig. Probably just needs tightened, but I don't want to move onto another project no matter how small until I get this dealt with.
