Dana 44 with arb 4.10 Proactive gears. As far as I can tell they come from the same place as revolution.
Pinion has .058 was .055 when I took it apart but its as close as I could get with the shims they gave me in the kit.
Backlash is .007

You're deep. Try removing 7-10 thou, reset backlash and re-run a pattern.

Does the side of the ring gear have a circle K stamped in it?

That is very close! You might be 1 or 2 thou shallow is all. See if you can make a shim stack to reduce it by that much. That is runnable I think, but I'd rather have it 1 or 2 thou deep than shallow. Looking at it closer, that might be it. But still try to make it 1 or 2 deeper if you can just to verify.

That's the closest I'm getting with the shims I have on hand. Great to know I'm getting close. I need to get a new pinion race and seal housing so ill see if I can get some shims from the bearing place on Monday. If not I fly out to work for 2 weeks so ill see if I can order some shims while I'm away then have another crack when I get home.
Thanks again and thanks for the videos they are what has given me the confidence to even attempt this.

Looking at the drive side, I think you are there. If you have have the patience, it would be worth verifying though. Glad the videos gave you the courage!

Do me a favor and run the pattern in a different location (make a reference mark). Use only enough compound to turn it yellow. I don't want to see the build up of compound at the root like on your current drive side pattern. Then take a pic at a slightly steeper angle (not so much where it looks like you are looking directly at the top of the tooth...go more perpendicular to the tooth)

Do you a favor:LOL: sure thing. I want to know how I can buy you a beer to say thanks.
I ran it 4 more times. still looks like its getting that build up but do these look any better.
