Dana 44 disc brake question

I have a 97 Jeep Tj. Just blew my Dana 35 axle and I am upgrading to a Dana 44 from a 98 Jeep Tj. (Hang in there)

I then bought the factory disc brake set up from someone's 2003-2006 Jeep Tj Dana 44.

My question is... Do I need that retainer bracket or anything else or should it just be bolt in. I can only find threads of people doing the zj disc conversion but can find any that are tj to tj conversion.

You need to use the disk brake style retainer bracket which has an inward facing raised lip needed to hold the seal in place when you have disk brakes.

Looks like this...

Yes that's what you need. You'll need to remove the old bearing, bearing retainer, & seal to install it and you'll then need to press the new bearing, bearing retainer, and seal onto the axle shaft. Here's how, though it is showing the flat drum brake style retainer. https://www.stu-offroad.com/axle/Dana 44/Dana 44-1.htm
