Hello. Dana 30, front, 1999. I have replaced both pinion and gear ring (both new). I have preload 19 in.lbs and backlash 0.007 in. Is my gear pattern OK (I think is quite OK). If no - what should I do - tkicker pinion shims?

Twój wzór zębatki jest głęboki. Musisz usunąć 5-7 tysięcznych podkładki. Przeprowadź nowy wzór i odpowiedz.

Your gear pattern is deep. You need to remove 5-7 thousandths of shim. Run a new pattern and reply.

Hello. Gear patterns in a photo. A (shims 0,022 in - the first test), B (decreased by 0,006 in - so there are shims 0,016 in total), C (0,022in). What is the best? Is B better than A?

They are still too deep. Did you start with the original shims that were in there? You need find too shallow so you can bracket it and know what you are working with.

Here is a basic video on reading gear patterns.
