I'm considering stretching the rear of my TJ. The Genright tank states you can move the axle back 6-7 inches, but their aluminum stretch corner armor only moves the wheel opening back 4". I've looked at all of the other companies offerings and it seems they are all the same. I would like to take full advantage of the space the new tank offers, so it looks like cutting a blank is the only option.

What have others done? How do you get the profile and the curves right? Jigs? Cardboard? Tape and eyeball it? What looks best... for example if you are cutting for a 37" tire, does a 37" circumference circle look best... or does it look better with a 39" circumference look a little cleaner?

I'm also considering using an off the shelf 4" stretch corner, and just trimming the rear of the corner guard back 2"-3" inches for a slightly oval shaped opening.

Thoughts?
