Custom Phone Holder Build

You're correct on the first part. It's just the regular saddle color interior with reupholstered leather seats. I believe that Jeep calls the tan interior, saddle. The interior really doesn't trap in dirt. I think mainly because it's covered by the hard top. I did install white bedliner so that if it gets wet, I can just pull a plug, and drain it. I removed the carpet, so I no longer have to worry about soggy, or nasty torn carpet. We have a lot of soot in the air in California because of all the pollution, so I have to wash the outside at least one a week, but the interior stays clean. I haven't detailed the interior in at least five months.

Nice. My first rig arrived with a bedlined floor and it was constantly dirty and required a brush and suction hose to properly clean it. It's very dusty here.

Hard top life might have something to do with it, but that wouldn't account for the dirt you track in (your rig looks impossibly clean).

Believe me, the interior stays clean. I even put clear mats over the Tan mats for that purpose. The exterior is another story. I washed it and detailed it about three months ago, and it looked beautiful. Two days later, it rained, and the white paint was covered in soot and dirt. I said F'it. I haven't washed it in three months. I was p.o'd. I just say, Hey, It's a Jeep.

I believe you. The interior is super clean and nice looking. It's also possible that me and my dog are unreasonably dirty.

Sometimes it's best to bend the knee.

FWIW, I don't wash my vehicle body too often since a microfiber towel and Hybrid solutions detailing spray works so well.

The setup is surprisingly rigid, and the strength of the magnets in Scosche's newest holder are impressive. I'd be surprised if the phone fell while out on the trails.

Been using a scosche mount for my GMRS and it's never once fallen off, surprisingly impressive for what they are.

Yea, I heard and read good things about the older versions holding strong, so I expect this to hold on pretty well.

I originally got this version before realizing a newer version was available that has a second row of magnets (feels about 2x stronger).

I’m surprised I haven’t seen anyone using quad lock or SP connect.. best system in my opinion. For mountainbike, motorcycles, car. I literally use it on everything. Wireless charging also.

Here is the one in my jeep.

I didn’t want to drill in the original dash. So this looked like a good solution.

If you’ve never heard of it, Dig in to it. I really love it. Plus the cases are amazing!

A risk with claiming that a system you chose is best or asking why others don't do what you've done, is that truthful responses can lead to hurt feelings. Some choices are based on priorities and preferences that differ from person-to-person and can vary depending on the build.

There are folks in the forum who have run the quad-lock setup. I believe I saw it 2-3 years ago in a bullet point vs 67 designs thread.

Didn’t claim it was best. I said it was my opinion.

I was just sharing some information as it looked like nobody knew this system.
Do with it what you want. 👍🏼

I gotta have my wireless charging phone mount; the same one I have in my daily driver. I can't stand the windshield suction cup mount, so I cobbled this together really quick. I'm gonna 3d print something better eventually.. I can't figure out a better spot for it though. I can't have it up higher blocking any vision through my windshield, I don't like how right now it's in front of the heater vents, and I don't want it to be way over on the passenger side either.
