My 2006 unlimited ran great but it had a check engine light reporting an O2 failed. I dropped it with my jeep dealer who found a O2 sensor cable damaged. He repaired the wiring and replaced the O2 sensor just in case. after that the Ecm still reported an 02 issue (same sensor). They checked all the other wiring and the pins to the Ecm and it still had the same trouble. The mechanic suspected i had a damaged Ecm. Chrysler does not sell new ones so I needed to find one on my own. I ordered on from FS1. While waiting for the part, I drove the jeep and found a bigger problem. The jeep lost power and or won't shift (automatic) into high gears. It would not go faster the 50, then 35... I installed the new Ecm when it arrived and had the same problems except for the check engine light did go away.

Does anyone have a suggestion? Am I crazy to take it back to the same mechanic? What did the dealership do to make it worse? Are the problems related?

o2 sensor codes are a sign the pcm could be going out...Are you experiencing any other symptoms of a faulty pcm? High transmission temps or occasional hard shift when cold? I can test it for you in my Jeep to make sure.

Thanks,

Mark
