Complain about your daily driver

So I was thinking about all the tech in today’s cars and thinking, my Dads 79 Mustang had a side profile in the center console. One of the things I remember is it would show is if one of your rear brake lights were out. I’m not sure if some semblance of that is on vehicles today? Not my 22 4Runner. Sure would be nice.

Local police will also provide that service, or so I hear. :sneaky:

We have a 2010, which replaced a 2003. The 03 drove far better, felt more precise. I don't know if the front shocks on the 5th Gen are just mushy or if they screwed with the geometry and gave it no anti-dive but it wallows around like a pig and I can't stand driving it.

My daily is a 2000 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 and 4L60E. It's got 175k on it, paint is black that hasn't been cared for so has lots of micro scratches in the doors, fender and bedsides, and the hood and roof are so sun damaged that the clear coat is basically gone. The rear leafs are squeaky so they chirp at me whenever I start from a stop. The transmission occasionally throws a CEL with a slipping code and maxes out the line pressure so the 1-2 shift is harsh and chirps the leaf springs as it lurches forward. There are some kits out there to replace some parts in the valve body that supposedly fixes that.

The 4runner has 220k miles and we'll probably bring another vehicle into the stable for my wife to drive within the next year or so, and I'll probably sell the Silverado and take over the 4runner....but I'm gonna have to do something to stiffen it up.

Tacoma TRD Off Road oem front suspension (Bilsteins) are a direct bolt up to your 4runner. I am very happy with them on my 2007 (they fit 5th gens too).

The 4runners are so soft and weird to drive stock. Bilsteins or similar are a requirement.

Just got a call from my service rep. Apparently a misfire on cylinders 3 and 6. They are going to try new spark plugs. I asked if a truck with 10K miles should need new spark plugs? He was a little thrown off by the question and said 'uh maybe' after some stuttering.

I am in the process of moving and was about to throw out my OEM speakers vs. moving them. I put them back in the pile to move them in case I need to get rid of my truck before the 3 year warranty is up.

Got it back from the dealer. They replaced 2 injectors. I've been driving it for about a week, no issues.

Glad that it was still under warranty, but still odd that this happened with around 10K miles. Many have reported the issue, but usually closer to 40 - 50K miles.
