Nope not at all...This is the sort of thing I used...you pull out the original bulb from its holder and push in the new LEDs (shown in Blue) then fit them back into the holes at the back of the dial cluster. I think there is a Utube video showing how its done

I did a full LED interior swap using LEDs from superbrightleds.com. I did all the accessory lighting, cluster lights, HVAC lights, and tranny light. Everything was plug 'n play. Hardest part was just taking apart the dash which I just watched youtube videos for. It is a night and day difference from the old incandescent bulbs. Im planning on doing all exterior lights next.

I also removed my carpet. Since the top/doors are always off in Tx and it has gotten caught in the rain a few times. I removed the "semi-permanent" floor plugs and ordered the rubber JK plugs off amazon (5 for like $8 or something) and replaced all my drain plugs so everything is easily removable and drains easily

You just need to take out your dial cluster and surround which is held in with about 4 screws then it just pops out..the bulbs is a simple pull out the old and pop in the new...20 mins and your done. (did the centre around the temp gauges too)

Are they plug and play? I replaced the lights in my Silverado twice but I had to solder each individual bulb. Took a little bit of work.

I guess this qualifies as a cheap mod too...18 bucks on Ebay. Wired it into my dash to bypass the transfer case switch that tells the computer than I'm in 4-Low. Now, I flip this switch, and I have control of my lockers, in any T-case position. Which means I can run in 2wd with a locked rear axle, or 4-Hi locked both axles. I needed it yesterday. Wheeling in Sand is WAY different than the typical trails I do. More like mud running, where horsepower and wheel speed rules.

Did you use those to replace the oval plugs that are glued in from the factory? If so, do you have a link to the plug you used?

Yep, used a screwdriver and scraper to pry them up and remove the rubber seal. Then put these in. They are a direct fit replacement. My LJ needed i think 8 total.

That is fantastic, I removed the carpet from mine and like to use a hose just to clean the interior floor. These will be great, thanks!
