I am currently in the process of installing a center console I found locally. My jeep came with the half console so I know I’ll need to put in some rive nuts to secure the back. Do I use a m6 rivnut or something else?

The factory screw is a Torx button head flange head. It is 6mm so if you want to replicate OEM, then you would use matching nutserts and screws. https://belmetric.com/m6-torx-button-flange-black-stainless-coarse-iso-7380-2/?

McMaster-Carr is another good source of fasteners, including rivet nuts.

Personally I would use a similarly sized standard thread (probably 1/4-20 UNC, or maybe even drill it out to 5/16-18 UNC) so I wouldn’t have to buy a metric mandrel set.

I was thinking this as well may try that route. Thanks!

I added some OEM rock rails to my Jeep and they had some hex shaped holes on the underside for mounting them. I don't know if yours has them, but if it does and they are the same size hex hole as the ones, you need for the center console then these nutserts will fit in there.
