Center Console Front Half Interchange

Are the front halfs of center consoles interchangeable from different years? I have an earlier sub console and want to install an 05-06 front half since the shifter cutout is further forward and lines up better with my engine swap and I am currently using an 05-06 tunnel cover. I just want to know if it will bolt up with my earlier back half.

They are different in some areas, but should bolt up

It will fit the rear sections but the mounting tab was moved. I'm sure you can rig up something to resolve this.
