Cashes Valley trail ride

Something just has to happen- we have too much fun to not get together.

I got my hands on a pretty nice set of half doors today- black.

I had the good fortune to run into some guys that refurbish nothing but TJ’s and LJs- I cannot tell you how impressed I was with their approach to everything about these. I had no idea we had anybody in this part of the country that was so into these.

To give you an idea how thorough they were they keep a 3 inch body lift on hand just to get the tub off the frame when they do the frame paint work.

They take them completely down - All you see is a tub and a parking brake.

When they do front end work, if a customer will not let them do the entire front end they won’t do any of it because they know that there’s going to be a weakness left.

I won’t be able this weekend.. I’m heading to Ohio to celebrate my grandmas 100th birthday.. I’d be good for Dec though

We will be bringing our granddaughter with us also!!!!

Probably try to take her to Helen at some point during the day to.

So here is what I have mapped out. Chimney mountain runs into Tray mountain.

This also goes by High Shoals Falls if you want to do the very nice 5 mile hike to the two waterfalls (2.5 in, 2.5 back out).

Here's the link to show you the layout.

I have the starting/meeting point at Unicoi State Park so there should be plenty of space for us to meet.

I am still clear to go at this point and hopefully my wife will be able to come too.

This ends at the Deer Lodge if you want to do the big steak dinner.

Lets discuss that because that will determine our start time (you want to be at Deer Lodge by 4:30 or you will have to wait a long time)

Deer Lodge is cash or check only and I won't know if they will even be open until Thursday.

It's not on the map, but 15 minutes north of Deer Lodge is Bell Mountain which is the best view in the state if you want to go there. I always do when in the area.

Let me know of any changes/updates you'd like to make.

I know my wife and granddaughter want to go into Helen, so there is that.

Unicoi sounds good pick the time to meet and we will be there.

We will probably run the trails and then hit Helen.

I ain't paying for the wife and granddaughter to eat steak :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Well maybe I might have to :cry:

I'm having second thoughts about the hike myself simply because I don't want to leave my Jeep in the open there for that long.

Too many people are opportunists nowadays.
