Car pics too cool not to share

WTF is that thing running? That's enough to scare the women and children. The last part of that video sounds like the ICE is running as a genset, do you know how that car is setup?

Welcome to the world of sports prototype racing. One of the few racing types that was cool then and still is (kind of) now. Just ask Jim. ;)

These cars run in the WEC nowadays. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_V-Series.R

Welcome to the world of sports prototype racing.

I've always found the prototype class to be interesting, and nothing sounds like the old Mazda 787 running at 340,000 RPM.

I can't remember if this Mercedes was in a prototype class or not, but I've always loved the look.

Speaking of Mercedes, here's another one I always thought was beautiful, the CLK GTR, but someone fucked up with this one.

That car was owned by a guy named Ryan Wedding and being stored in Florida as part of a bigger collection. So, just a little observation of mine, but we haven't seen DuckNut since August... :sneaky:

Never heard of the car before that video. Sounds like afterburners kicking in!

Perfect for those "don't touch my car please" vids :ROFLMAO:

That's funny, but the audacity of those people to prop up on someone's ride like that pisses me off. Take your pictures, but don't touch. Every now and then I'll see that stuff at a car show with "outsiders" who think they can just touch or even get in a strangers car.

It is hard to believe that the 917K is a 56 year old racecar and was such a big hammer when it came out . Flat 12 fun.

Indeed, and true of the 917 in pretty much all forms (nods respectfully to 917-10 and -30). Hard to believe as well that one of the men that drove the car depicted above to class and overall victory at Le Mans in 1970, Dickie Attwood, is 85 and still participates in historic racing events from time time. In case anyone is wondering, he's still pretty damn fast. Regrettably, his co-driver Hans Hermann died just 11 days ago on 01/09/26 at the ripe old age of 97.

That Mazda 787B reminds me of these...

I used to love the nitro cars/trucks, lots of fun. IIRC those little nitro engines are capable of 30,000+ RPM. I had one like below that was AWD and would run somewhere in the 50 mph range stock, but with a 2 speed trans the company said it would run 80+. I don't think mine ever ran that fast because every time it'd hit 2nd gear, seconds later all 4 tires would sling off.
