that and lifetime retire medical are the missing links in my life...lol. 20 years ago my FIL came home from work at 62 (local 3 NYC electrician) and said whether I retire or go to work I will be paid the same. He retired with an 80 pension, ridiculous medical and never looked back. Wife's family had significant family in the union and I turned it down after college....to high and mighty with that marketing degree. Now I would be 3 years away from 62?????

Which would you choose?

Without hesitation, the '04-06 GT. Good looks, a supercharged V8 with stick shift and no nanny BS to keep me "within limits". A Prius could be faster and I'd still pick the older GT.

Side note, it's amazing, and somewhat sad, how big and fat the modern Mustan has become. That GTD Mustang is soo much bigger than the old GT.

I would probably choose the older GT over the new GT too and the GTD 3rd although it's probably the one I'd enjoy the driving experience of the most.

Speaking of Mazda, the original 626 is a forgotten (and rarely seen, these days) car that I have always loved. Very difficult to find anymore, though surely some must still exist. I love the styling, and they're rear wheel drive, to boot!

And as for a Ford that's really a Mazda, I like these, especially in blue. But only the second gen, and only the trunk model, preferably without the rear spoiler. Biggest knock against them, IMHO, is the unfortunate name. I just think they'd be a decent daily driver, for some reason. Not terribly exciting by any stretch of the imagination, but I'd drive one, for a while, at least.

Love the 626 RWD!
Probe seemed OK for what it was but did you know Ford originally intended the Probe to be the new Mustang? 🤮

I did know that. One of my favorite interviews on the subject was with the head of Ford (if'n I recall correctly). He said that he received letters from Mustang fans calling him all manner of names, and going so far as to question his parentage, asking if they were actually blood related to one another! It was a great interview. Wish I could find it on YouTube.

I wonder how those people feel about the mockery "Mustang Mach-E". I'll bet Ford has received truck loads of fanfare for that work of... something. :sneaky:
