There is one of those that drives around here, believe it or not it's more of a shitbox look than mine
Around 1982/'83, there was a fella in Saratoga Springs, New York that owned a body shop, an Opel GT, and a Jeep Commando (Jeepster). He married the Opel's body to the Jeepster's floor pan, and radiused the wheel arches to a larger opening to allow for larger tires.
There must be more than one weirdo out there...

I met Harold LeMay and his wife, Nancy, about 25 or so years ago. He had invited our Rambler car club (Cascade Ramblers) and another club to a personal tour of his collection. He and Nancy even served us all lunch at his private residence. This was prior to the museum, obviously (as the museum was built after his passing). I have pictures somewhere that I should dig out. Anyways, he was an incredible gentleman with loads of fascinating stories and a wonderful sense of humor. He also bought a few cars from the club members, now that I think about it. Never been to the museum, though I plan to one of these days. The car world lost a good guy when he passed.
It was the early '80s, and I didn't exactly travel around town with a camera with me. I had to wait and get a PHOOOOOONE to do that!![]()
I have heard it said: “happiness is a one log load”
This little Chebby has been parked in this same spot for months, only disappearing for a few days before returning to the same location. I don't know what's up with it, but I do know that the driver's door window has been down the entire time, regardless of pouring rain or howling winds. One day I saw someone sitting in the driver's seat, so I assumed the truck was his. In hindsight, I now think it could've been a homeless person. Tags are about two years out of date, as well. Too damn bad, really, as it's a pretty decent little pickup.

(although seat belts and roll cages are good… ask General Patton)
Love those things. And you still see videos of people doing crazy trails in fairly stock examples
