On Leno's Garage today, a replica of a 1907 Curtiss V8
They say the original builder rode one of them to 136 mph. I'd love to ride a bike like that, but nowhere near triple digit speeds.

Those look like fun, but are nowhere near as nice as the one I was talking about. Like I said, his would've passed as some sort of factory-built unit, it was so clean. He didn't have oversized tires (for the Jeepster), though the stock ones were definitely oversized for the Opel. He was still running the factory steel wheels on the rig, in fact. He had opened up the wheel arches for the added diameter, so everything looked "right". I can't remember if he had to flair the fenders to accommodate the wider track, but I assume he did (I literally just don't remember. It's been a few years...). I also can't remember if I took any pics of it. It was the early '80s, and I didn't exactly travel around town with a camera with me. I had to wait and get a PHOOOOOONE to do that!

This little Chebby has been parked in this same spot for months, only disappearing for a few days before returning to the same location. I don't know what's up with it, but I do know that the driver's door window has been down the entire time, regardless of pouring rain or howling winds. One day I saw someone sitting in the driver's seat, so I assumed the truck was his. In hindsight, I now think it could've been a homeless person. Tags are about two years out of date, as well. Too damn bad, really, as it's a pretty decent little pickup.
Love those things. And you still see videos of people doing crazy trails in fairly stock examples (although seat belts and roll cages are good

Speaking of, I used to know a guy who "met" Gen Patton in a Jeep. Short story, the guy I knew, Charlie, was posted as a guard at a two man shack on a road in the Ardennes. He said one cold day a Jeep came blasting down the road and up to his gate. When it stopped, he smarted of something telling them the road was unsecured and they couldn't be there to which the passenger barked back that he didn't give a damn, and sum'bitch this or that, which is when he figured out it was Patton. He said salutes were exchanged, he lifted the gate like he was told to do, and the Jeep blasted onward. Charlie said that was his only minute of fame in the entire war.
I like them. If I had land I'd consider owning one. They seem like a fun blast around the pasture/woods/small town kind of vehicle, like a SXS but slower and cooler, but I wouldn't want to drive one on the roads with all of the big vehicles driven by distracted brain dead morons.

I do, too, and I'd love to have one. Would be the perfect runabout where I currently live. But apparently at 6' 5" tall with a 36" inseam, actually driving one might prove impossible for me.

I see a ton of similarities here, although the Kubota might be a little more comfortable.
