Car pics too cool not to share

If you're a train nerd or know any, they're trying to make an East Coast tour with "Big Boy" this year ('26). My son is currently a train nerd, so I'm in the know.

I'm on their mailing list and didn't know that. That means they'd be running on non UP track, Goddess only knows what getting permission for that entails. If the thing comes anywhere even CLOSE to Florida, I'm there. There is apparently UP track to New Orleans, I'd make the drive...

Wrong country, but I'm interested to see what this goes for... :p

I haven't read anything beyond "it's in the planning phase" yet, but they're working on it. If so, it would be the first time the locomotive has come to the East. They mention Norfolk Southern, which is who owns all of the rails near me. If it runs here or close to here, I'm sure I'll have to chase it. :sneaky:

Union Pacific plans to send the Big Boy from coast to coast for America’s 250th

By Bill Stephens | October 24, 2025

"Union Pacific plans to send Big Boy No. 4014 on a transcontinental trip next year as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

“I want to run Big Boy across the country,” CEO Jim Vena told Trains on Thursday.

Vena says that he’s had discussions with Norfolk Southern CEO Mark George about hosting what would be the Big Boy’s first trip in the East since the 4-8-8-4 rolled out of the Alco plant in Schenectady, N.Y., in 1941.

UP is working through the details of operating the 1.2-million pound locomotive off of home rails, including timing of the trip and whether the 4014 would head west from its Cheyenne, Wyo., base to Oakland, Calif., first or steam east.

Either way, the goal would be to run the Big Boy from coast to coast.

“It is a little complicated,” Vena says. “But I think it would be a great, great historical movement for America’s 250th birthday … to move that steam engine, the biggest operating steam engine in the world, across the country. I think it’d be real cool.”"

What is this? Last year there was a nice '66 or '67 Chevelle sitting here. I'm not sure what it changed into, but I think I'd rather have the Chevelle.

I'm nervous to put a new lip on it, it will probably quickly end up looking like this again. Dirt roads and very low cars is a bad combination

Btw, the "Mister 2" reference was from my past. My second wife is a first-generation immigrant from Laos, and she genuinely thought the MR2 was said as "Mister 2". It was cute as hell to hear her reference them that way! :)

Remember that, but you have to really think about the date of your anniversary, don'tcha? It's okay. It's a "guy thing". :sneaky:

You know, that's actually one of those dates that is easy for me, along with about 5 birthdays. The wife, not so much, it's about a 60/40 for her. I like to pull and play that card the day after she forgets. :ROFLMAO: Now if she tell me I need to pick up X,Y and Z at the grocery store, I'm probably coming home with X, G, E and a stake, and maybe a puppy too. :sneaky:

Nothing like having a near 1/2 million dollar daily driver

Beautiful cars, especially in coupe. I see them here and there. Actually I just went to a clients house last week who had a coupe in the garage. The car and his house were in the same ball field price wise. People and their life choices. :sneaky:
