Car pics too cool not to share

The BMW would be a parts cost nightmare at the 10-15 year mark but a Tesla to me would be like an iPhone 7 at that time, essentially without value and I’d just hope it still did what I needed it to, no point in replacing components.

I'm with you on that. Sadly, I think most modern vehicles, 2010-ish and newer, will fit into that line of thinking, totaled by maintenance parts/labor cost, not actual mechanical failures. Obviously, some will be prone to more, like the BMWs. I am curious about what will happen to these EVs when they finally do brick without any significant market value. There's an early Honda Insight sitting under a house at the beach I frequent, and it's been sitting there for a minimum of 5 years now, probably closer to 10. I'm guessing the battery and/or electronics in it died and there's not enough market value to sell it, and the scrapyards probably charge for the battery pack. Disposal of these EVs will be coming soon.

There are people putting new battery packs in early teslas. I don't think it would be more than a new motor or other major parts in a bmw?

If the Tesla is modularly designed they could retrofit upgrades easy enough. But, the shell likely is t worth the expense.

Here's a local Mustang I've been meaning to get a picture of for a while now. It's been sitting beside this garage for probably 6-7 months. I had seen it driving around town for a few weeks before finding it stashed beside this garage. She looks like she was a decent driver before someone went and picked a whole bouquet of oopsie daisies.

This 2nd 'stang just recently popped up behind it. Maybe they found a parts car to get the yellow one fixed.

My guess is the yellow car turned into a donor for one that didn't have a bent unitbody

Maybe he's waiting on you to make the first move and post pictures of that MGA you bought. ;) My money says your currently having it painted yeller, so well have to wait for pictures.

Well, coming up with that type of thing you could probably bullshit someone into thinking you're the Amazing Kreskin, Carnac the Magnificent or some other. Allow me to elaborate...

The 914 I posted above isn't/wasn't technically for sale. I ran across a "want to buy" listing for, of all cars, an MGA. In the listing the "wanter" notes he has the 914 as well as a '99 Jeep TJ (go figure) available as potential trading pawns. So many connections... 🤯🤪

A friend's uncle had an MGA roadster in dark green back in the day. Always liked it when he showed up for parties and BBQs (didn't hurt his wife was rather fetching as well, she wasn't my aunt...but I digress :sneaky:).
