What's the backstory? I don't trust cops anymore than I trust the guy they're trying to get.
I bet the Bronco driver didn't look like a certain minority, or maybe he/she did look like an illegal immigrant which throws the whole reasong in a different direction.
FWIW, I don't really think stuff should work like that but I'll offer a steak dinner with some good beer to anyone that can prove it doesn't happen in the USA.
Do a ride along with a cop and see what kind of shit they see and put up with every day. I bet your attitude towards them will change. There are bad players in every profession.

The cops did their job.
Years ago they started a "Citizens Police Academy" in our hometown. It was so regular joes get an insight on what Police officers must go through. They take your from initial training as recruits, continual training, modern day training simulators from real life situations to auto driving simulators, ride-a-longs, they even tased an officer in front of us. It was eye opening, and gained a lot of respect for them. Split decisions they have to make at times, and then get thrown on trial for them now-a-days. You can go from hero to zero in an instant.
He tried to escape as seen in the above video. He’s been charged with flight from a police officer, dangerous operation, obstruct police officer and three counts of possession of property obtained by crime.

Where's the destruction of property charges? In this situation, I think the cops did their job well, no one died over simple property. Now the question is will the courts punish this guy and teach a lesson, or will they give him some harsh words and set him free?
I'm curious. If you're a family with means that can pay for damages, is the penalty reduced? In Ontario there is a $5,000 damages milestone that has a significant bearing on the penalty if convicted. I believe it's max. 6 mo. in prison if under $5k and up to 10 yrs. if over. Just guessing but I imagine they want to confirm the amount before laying the charge. I'm sure it will be over $5K.
