Brake pad problem

I am more onto OEM so don't listen to me.
Even if it goes back to brake drum if it was the OEM, i'll keep it stock.
I am that fanatic because it can be only called original once!

I have the '05 Sport with Dana 44, it's rear disc OEM version. Good enough for my needs.

One is Ford, one is Jeep.

I am a fan of OEM and use it as much as possible. Point being, when it comes to brakes on the back of the TJ, the 8.8 rear discs, ZJ rear discs, and TJ rear discs are very hard to tell apart since they are on the same backing plate with only very minor differences. So minor that you can generally interchange all the parts.

What is the axle out of? From what I can see (and I'm FAR from an expert), it doesn't look like a Jeep axle. If it's Ford brakes, good chances it could be a Ford axle. It also looks like you have a wheel adapter (or spacer) on it.

You can't. The brakes fit the knuckle on the Ford axle. You have to change the knuckle and inner C's and likely more stuff. What is the bolt pattern?

Now i see TJ Adicts point its only original once. I guess Im at the point no return economically.

Ford HP 44 would be my guess.
 
Hey Blaine was taking back wheels if then had to leave took quick pic of calipers can you tell what they are or do you need more pictures.

Maybe bought to Jeep through a dealer. Did cross my mind for sure. I got other stuff I’m not sure about. I’m sure I’ll make myself look stupid with some of the questions I have for you guys. Also I’m from the UK so not exactly Jeep savvy

I’m out and about so may just buy both sets and take one back. Will they know what I’m talking about at the auto store if I use the ford 8.8 and TJ OEM

Tell them rear Wrangler TJ and Ford Explorer so you get the right 8.8 brakes. There are lighter duty 8.8 axles whose brakes may not be the same. Explorer is the version of the 8.8 most commonly used.
