I had my radio on an overhead mount similar to that. After a few years, the mike failed due to the wire insulation inside the cable degrading and shorting out. New mike fixed that.b
Then a few years later, the radio speaker failed. Then shortly after that the radio display failed.
Multiple nylon grab straps failed, too - the loops around the roll bars turned to dust.
All the above failures due to the brutal summer sun baking stuff that was a few inches from the hard top. Next time, the radio equipment will get mounted down low, away from the hard top frying pan.
