Blue Half Doors

Yeah, swapping the TJ u-shaped latch for a YJ post type latch. I’d probably only swap them on for summer, so it wouldn’t be that cumbersome, but I have some custom TJ half doors, so I gave up on the YJ door option.

Yea it might not be too bad if you only did it once or twice a year. I may just eventually get a set of tube doors. Still undecided where I will go with doors. Having a custom paint color means I would have to paint anything I found.

When I had half doors I wanted full doors… now that I have full doors I want half doors…

The first TJ I bought 19 years ago had half doors. Back then nobody wanted them, and I was shunned by other Jeepers with full doors. Long arm lifts were popular then too.

Maybe because no 4.0 or Sport decals on the side? That's all I can figure.

I’ve never heard of an after market manufacturer of half doors.

Key parts makes half door shells. Along with the already mentioned interior panels, he would need hinges, latches, link rods, It would nickel and dime him to death.

I wasn't doubting that they made the Lapis Blue in a 4.0, just that no decals must be what you were basing your question on.

In that lighting it looks similar to mine (Land Rover Arles Blue), but in the shade they seem to look real different.

Since that is not a popular color, you will need to buy doors that are a different color and have them painted to match.

I'm in CA and found a good deal on bed lined half doors for $350 a few years ago. Since then, I've been looking and haven't found a set in silver that were in decent shape. Silver is a common color, so that should give you an idea of how hard to find they are. I've been looking for 8 years.

In good shape, used half doors usually run $500 - $800.
