Been researching tires for a while and keep coming back to the tried and true KO2s.

Currently running Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws. 33x12.5 15's. They were installed on the Jeep when I bought it in '21.. and were new back then.
I've put about 60k miles on them. TJ is my daily driver. Probably 70% surface roads, 30% off. Soft beach sand, rocky fire roads to dispersed camping. No hard wheeling. Fine in the northeast snow, I hate them in the rain. Still have about 9/32" on them and I want to flip them on MP for a couple hundred bucks to offset the cost of the new tires.

Going to stay with 33's.

My only real concern is the KO2s being too loud.

Thoughts from those running the BFGs is appreciated.

I run KO2's in the winter and KM3's in the summer. We have KO3's on the JLU and they are a far superior to the KO2's quieter and better wet road performance

KO2s on my TJ for a couple of years now. Not my DD, but it often gets driven 1-2 hours to/ from the trail and thus far, they've been great - smooth and quiet.

Just put KO3s on the Sierra 2500 Dmax my wife uses as her DD in addition to being our tow rig, and I've been impressed with them as well.

I switched from the original T/A KM to the OG T/A KOs and daily drove those. Much quieter than the KMs and good treadwear. Followed up by Duratracs, but no longer driven frequently at that point and used only about 40% of the tread before they aged out. Just put on a set of KO3s a couple months ago and I think those would be fine for daily driving if I had to drive anywhere for work. I've been working out of my home office for a long time, and "daily driving" just consists of occassional errands.

I'm hoping for good snow performance from the KO3. They've faired well in the tests I've seen. The Duratracs were the "best" tire I'd had on the TJ in the snow so far.

Ko2's are kinda noisy for an at. But not mud terrain noisy by any means. Have you thought about going to a 33x10.5 for less hydroplaning? 60k miles out of your falkens is great.

I want to go ko2's with my next tires but i worry about when they'll discontinue them and not be able to replace a punctured tire.seeing as their replacement is already for sale...

Had 2 sets of ko2s. Maybe 60k miles between the 2 sets daily and 6 cross country trips. They’re quiet. My Baja boss at make noise that I wasn’t expecting since the ko2 weren’t ever noticeable. Ko2 were great in any dry surface I had them in and snow. I had them hydroplane a few short times that showed me they’re not the best wet tire but never bad enough to do anything about it. I liked them a lot especially how light they are. They held up getting folded over lava rock and never ripped.

I’ll take a deeper dive into the 3’s.

I’ve had 3 sets of KOs on my ‘98 DD and never had any concerns with noise, ride quality, traction, or any other aspect.
KO2’s or KO3’s?

I had the OG DuraTracs on one of my JKs. It a few years back but I recall being fairly happy with them other than the road noise which increased as they wore, in spite of my diligence with rotating them. I always loved the look of the DuraTrac tread pattern but with the new version, not as much. I never had a problem with them, but historically the sidewalls are extremely vulnerable.

I’m full time soft top and warm weather i run half doors.. NEVER turn the radio on. I just like the silence and wind noise. So a little more road noise than what I have now, which is nothing, is okay.

60k miles on New York surface roads.. and still going. I notice that locally Jeep is sending JL Rubi’s out with Falken M/Ts. I looked at the Wildpeak AT4.. Not crazy about what I am reading.

I have thought about going to 10.5. Not out of the question. Thinking back to the few wet weather “incidents” having ABS would have been a bigger help than narrower tire.

I have the same concern about the availability of the KO2’s. I’ll deep dive on the KO3s before I pull the trigger. Fortunately I have time.

I have KO2s on my TJ, it is a second vehicle so not a daily, but with a soft top I don't hear them at all. Maybe a tiny bit with the doors and roof off at low speeds, but nothing really noticeable. I have had the KO2s for years on previous Jeeps and loved them in the snow.

With that said, I've had Firestone Destination AT2s on my daily, a 2019 Grand Cherokee, and love them. Excellent in the snow and that New England sticky slush, quiet, ride very nice, and seem to be wearing well even with all the towing I do. They were also significantly cheaper than the KO2s.

Yes, they suck

I have to agree. I have them in metric 35x13r18 on my Dodge truck. They are my second set. The first set was great, hence buying them again. Unfortunately, the build quality of the tire has really dropped. They are quiet and have excellent rain and packed snow traction. Only problem is, they aren't round. Road force numbers are all 30s-40s (and the spare is 65#). This translates into annoying vibrations. For comparison the road force numbers on my 35" Yokohama MTs on my TJ are single digits to teens. Loud but no vibrations. I'll be getting Toyo Open Country AT3s next time.

This is contradictory to why I don't like them but I'm glad we agree still!!

I think they were very loud, the were very prone to hydroplaning, had bad grip off-road, and also look dumb

Were yours K02s or the older KOs? The noise you had surprises me as does the rain performance. I agree off road is not what they do well.
