Best Powder Coating

I'm not sure any powdercoating is decent anymore. It seems like so many of the newer parts i've gotten the powdercoating is barely more durable than paint. I put a set of sliders on my lexus gx from southern style offroad and the PC got stratched just moving them around in the garage. Similar results with the PC on my metalcloak fenders.

I had shrockworks stuff on my xterra and that powdercoat was super tough. i beat the hell out of the skids and sliders and they didn't scratch nearly as much as this newer stuff.

Like most coatings, it's 90% prep. For aluminum we bead blast, phosphate wash then oven dry (and heat of course) before we coat. The bead blast isn't always done, but the majority of the time we do.

Too expensive where I live.

We're just south of Harrisonburg... we mostly just powder our own work (custom ornamental metal fabricator) but do work for locals from time to time. I'm a Project Manager here and for small things (I do the prep) I can things powdered for a 12 pack (or two). When we do a common color like satin black they'll just add it to the rack for me.

Having things like an 8k laser, v-groover, sweet-ass press brake and water jet is a big bonus.

You might be better off buying a bare unfinished product and taking it to a local powdercoating shop.

Agree with this. If I buy stuff that is powder coated, I expect that it won't be done well. If I want it done well, just have to take it to a good powder coater.
