Hello All, First Post.
I am working on my nieces 2002 TJ. Doing the brakes with her 15 y/o son.

Looking over the Exterior I tried to get the "Grey" wheel trim back to black.
No joy so far. Tried Mothers Back to Black and "Bombs Away" (a slightly abrasive aluminum wheel polish I use on the wheels of my Goldwing). No real change.

So, to the collective, what do you use to get the black back?
I am open to removing them but it also affects the running boards and the bumper ends.

Hope you can help.

I use this in the wet months because its oil based, and this in the dry months.

Super happy with both.

But if the plastic is super crusty these types of products might not be the solution.

Thanks for the replies.
I went ahead and ordered the Trim material from Chemical Guys and plan to give it a try.

Thank you again

I can’t attest to how long it will last, but back to black will probably get it after 10-20 coats, most of a bottle.

Willy’s answer is the one I’d go with for a long term solution.
